Nationals Prevail, 2-1, Over Asheville
|
Ottawa rode a good effort from starter Manu Jortikka to beat the Asheville Highlanders at Nationals Park. The final score was 2-1. Aki Sato earned his 4th save in 5 tries. Ottawa is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 7th win in 20 games.
Cheh Zhi was 1-3 for Ottawa. The 28-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Patrick Nicolas. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Zhi told reporters after the game.
