The Asheville Highlanders topped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 5-0, in M3L Double A action at Asheville Park. The player of the game was Asheville pitcher and Brooklyn, New York native Alberto Ortíz. Asheville improves to 9-8 as they look to defend their championship.

Francis Raffone put Asheville in front, 4-0, when he took Michael Leonard downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 1st home run of the season.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Raffone.
