|
The Bethesda Atoms defeated the Marquette Miners, 5-3. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Kian Curling, who went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs. Robert Karabanov, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. François Boyer, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
The Atoms got a lift from shortstop Mike Marshall who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh inning off Shan-bo Kang. It was his 2nd walk of the season and put Bethesda in front, 4-3.
"Feels good to get the job done," Marshall said after the game.
With the win, Bethesda improves its record to 9-6.
