Polar Bears Win at Asheville, 5-2
|
With right fielder Norbert Ingalsbe leading the charge, the Billings Polar Bears defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 5-2, at Asheville Park. Ingalsbe, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA with a 1.095 OPS, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Carlos Flores was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 2 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. The Highlanders fall to 6-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2039 season.
Billings took a 4-1 lead on Ingalsbe's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Alex Edgar in the top of the sixth, propelled Billings to the win.
"We take it day by day here," said Ingalsbe, "and today was a good one for us."
