Highlanders Bang Out 11-5 Win Versus Biloxi
|
The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Biloxi Shuckers, 11-5, at Asheville Park. Bruce Webster was named player of the game for Asheville. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double, in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 3 he knocked in. Asheville goes to 5-1 with the win.
In the bottom of the 6th, left fielder Tae-wan Park gave Asheville the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Highlanders had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out double off Biloxi pitcher Denie Coppens changed that -- and Asheville went on to win.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Asheville manager William Franklin.
