Rodríguez Slugs Browns to 16-3 Win
|
The Cleveland Browns topped the Panama City Piranhas, 16-3, with left fielder Danny Rodríguez playing a big role. Rodríguez was 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Browns in the win. Jessie Young got the win, improving to 6-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. With the victory, the Browns record now stands at 57-51.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Katsuhiko Ishihara to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Browns on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Ishihara said.
