Lakers Prevail, 5-4, Over Kingston Township
|
Echo Park withstood an impressive performance by Kingston Township second baseman Glenn Curtis to defeat the Knights, 5-4, at LA Forum. Curtis was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs. Jordan Calhoun got the win, improving to 7-5. He held the Knights to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Echo Park now has a 3-game win streak.
In the bottom of the second, Echo Park right fielder Philip Todd had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Todd stroked a bases-clearing double to right. It made the score 4-0, Echo Park. For the game, he was 1-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort," said Todd after the game.
