Browns Score Late, Top Divided, 4-0
|
Jessie Young never let the Divided get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Browns to a 4-0 win. The 6th-place Browns raised their record to 45-43.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Katsuhiko Ishihara came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing D.C. pitcher Baker Mayfield, he hit a 1-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland on top, 1-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Cleveland manager Greg Diersing, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
