|
Vancouver got a terrific performance from left fielder Gene Ricks, but it wasn't enough to beat the Las Vegas Flamingos. Las Vegas won the The Strip contest, 7-4. Ricks was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Ieyoshi Asai picked up the save, his 1st. Their 22-45 record puts the Flamingos 9th in the Premier League.
Las Vegas took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 1st, Adrián Gómez hit a 2-run home run to make it 5-3, Flamingos.
Gómez called the triumph "a good team win."
