Lakers Fall Short at Panama City
|
The Echo Park Lakers got a sterling performance from pitcher Nolan Howard, but the Piranhas still prevailed, 4-3. Howard was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Panama City reliever Carlos Salcido picked up the win to move to 3-1. Mark Collingwood suffered the loss. Panama City bumps their record to 35-45 with the win.
Chrysler Rodriguez took Mark Collingwood deep in the bottom of the 11th. His solo home run put the Piranhas on top, 4-3. In all, Rodriguez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Rodriguez.
