Lakers Stun Stingers, 3-2

The Toledo Stingers and Echo Park Lakers provided some drama at LA Forum.
The Toledo Stingers got a superb performance from pitcher Ricky Sellers, but the Echo Park Lakers still won the game, 3-2. Sellers was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Echo Park reliever Ed Abood picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ron Manning took the loss.
Echo Park took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, designated hitter John Schaefer hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Schaefer.
Echo Park is in second place in the Third League with a record of 41-28.
