Knights Beat Pandas in 11
|
Kingston Township Knights starter Chase Sims pitched a strong game against the Montana Pandas at Panda Park, leading the Knights to a 4-2 win. Kingston Township reliever John Riggleman was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Bob Christison took the loss. Jack Salt earned the save for Kingston Township, his 1st of the year.
Kingston Township used the timely hitting of Ed Mellor to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Knights on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like to lead by example," said Sims. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
Kingston Township now sits in 8th place in the Third League at 31-36.
