Divided Stumble, Lose to Lakers
|
The Echo Park Lakers overcame a good performance by D.C. left fielder Martín Chávez to knock off D.C., 8-3, at LA Forum. Chávez was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Lakers go to 34-24, putting them 4th in the Third League.
In the bottom of the 6th, right fielder Angeddy Almanzar gave Echo Park the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Lakers had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out home run off D.C. pitcher Octavius Pringle changed that -- and Echo Park went on to win.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Almanzar said. "We did a good job of that today."
