van Opdorp Sensational, 5-for-5
|
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Chicago's Garm van Opdorp made it happen today against the BC. Everything came together at the plate for the 23-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Silver Sox to a 13-4 win at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," van Opdorp said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Garm van Opdorp singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
For the year van Opdorp has hit .440 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 5 runs.
