Piranhas Lose to Knights, 5-3
|
A 3-RBI performance from Ed Mellor, who finished 5th in the 3L in on-base percentage with .407 in 2036, helped the Kingston Township Knights beat the Panama City Piranhas, 5-3. John Riggleman closed it out for his 1st save. The Knights go to 20-27, putting them 11th in the Third League.
With Kingston Township leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Mellor hit a run-scoring double off Panama City hurler Román Mejía. It was the 6th double of the season for Mellor and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Mellor, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
