Victory Pushes Dodgers Record to 20-19
|
Brooklyn got a strong outing from Rod Watts as the Dodgers defeated the Seattle Rocketeers, 5-2, at Ebbetts Field. In 7 innings, Watts surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Harrison Tuff was credited with the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the season.
The Dodgers beat the Rocketeers in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Quindarious Monday produced in the bottom of the sixth. Batting against Seattle pitcher Luqman Barcoo, Monday gave his team a 5-2 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
Monday attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Dodgers bumped their record to 20-19 with this latest triumph.
