Ballpark of Port Royal was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Florida Men and the Port Royal Disaster.
The Men had to overcome a good performance from Port Royal pitcher Darren Garland to claim a 6-5 win at Ballpark of Port Royal. Garland went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Rhett Abbott in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Andrei-Luiz Frial took the loss. Joseph Merle recorded his 10th save for Florida.
Florida relied on the hitting of Carlos Campos to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Men on top, 6-5. For the game, Campos had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Port Royal manager Harris Bailey. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
