Northern Virginia Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
Both teams had their chances, but the Boston Patriots eventually prevailed at Dunkin Donuts Park.

The Boston Patriots scored a 1-0 win versus the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Dunkin Donuts Park. Boston pitcher Nicky Bogdan nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Bogdan, the winner, moves to 4-7. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Earning his 6th save for Boston was Jorge Gil.

The Patriots got a big boost from center fielder Yu-shu Kang who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second inning off Rainbow Mermaids hurler Ricardo García. It was his 21st RBI of the season and put Boston on top, 1-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Kang told the Boston Times.

Boston has now won 3 in a row.
