Starks Reel Off Another Win
Both teams had their chances, but the Syracuse Starks eventually prevailed at Ballpark of Port Royal.

Benefiting from Thom Beach's productive game, the Syracuse Starks downed the Port Royal Disaster, 8-7. Beach went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Starks. Syracuse has now won 7 straight.

Syracuse used the clutch hitting of Akke Derksen to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Starks ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Syracuse manager Kenny Billings.
