The Port Royal Disaster defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 6-3, at Thunderbirds Stadium. Port Royal left fielder Benno Luby was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dean Cross got the win, improving to 3-4. He held the Hotspur Reserves to 3 earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4. With the win, the Disaster improved to 40-31.

Luby had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Neal Burns, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Disaster a 4-3 lead. It was the 83rd hit of the year for Luby.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Luby.
