Men Get Close Win Over Drummers
|
The Florida Men and Tortolita Drummers put on a pitchers' duel at Psychos Ballpark.
The Florida Men did just enough to sneak past the Tortolita Drummers, 2-1, at Psychos Ballpark. Florida pitcher Omar Morales earned player of the game honors. The winner was James Davis in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Jerry Magee took the loss. Joseph Merle closed it out for his 8th save.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Jim Halpert, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA in bases on balls with 43, drew a walk. The Men went on to win.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Wilson Alvarado.
Florida bumps their record to 25-40 with the win.
