Lake Monsters Reel Off Another Win
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves got a superb performance from pitcher Larry Souder, but the Vermont Lake Monsters still won the game, 4-2. Souder was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Vermont reliever Kee Bao picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. José Santiago absorbed the loss. The 4th-place Lake Monsters have won 6 consecutive games.
Fernando Sandoval made it 3-2, Vermont, in the top of the ninth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Lake Monsters win.
"I thought we played a nice game," Sandoval told the Vermont News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
