Kevin Baxter had a good game, but he could not keep the Hialeah Dodos from falling, 7-3, to the Florida Men at Psychos Ballpark. The Hialeah left fielder was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times in the loss. Tim Sharp got the win, improving to 3-4. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Rhett Abbott finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
The Men got a big at-bat from right fielder Jeff Mouton. For the game, Mouton went 1 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Florida a 2-1 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Men manager Joseph Fish. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
With the win, Florida has a record of 21-37. Hialeah falls to 25-33.
