Port Royal beat Plymouth at Ballpark of Port Royal, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Oki Hai, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Maurice Hilliard got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Port Royal leads the Silver AAA by 2 games.
Rafael Urrutiz, who is tied for 6th in the SAAA in total bases with 87, helped out the Port Royal cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 times.
Urrutiz called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
