Starks Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Florida Men got a sterling performance from left fielder Jim Halpert, but the Starks still prevailed, 4-3. Halpert was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Syracuse is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Syracuse's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the tenth, with the game tied, Soren Loen reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run.
Loen told a Syracuse Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
