The Syracuse Starks bested the Vermont Lake Monsters by a score of 5-0, with first baseman Thom Beach getting the main credit. On the day, Beach went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Starks. Syracuse starter Dave McAlear was credited with the win after throwing 62 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-2.
