The Sunset District Fog faced a tough opponent in Florida pitcher Omar Morales, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Psychos Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Morales went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Manny Burgos got the win, improving to 6-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Homer Boyd got credit for the save for Sunset District. It was his 6th of the year.
Sunset District used the bat of Juan Arellano to capture the win. The designated hitter jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fog ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll savor this win," Arellano told the Sunset District Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
Sunset District is now 20-15.
