The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Hialeah Dodos, 7-5, with catcher Leon Jermy playing a big role. Jermy went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs for the Lake Monsters in the win. Greg Hoover earned the win to go to 3-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Vermont has now won 3 straight, while the Dodos have lost 3 in a row.
Vermont right fielder Gary Bruce helped the Lake Monsters to the win. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the 25-year old right fielder stroked a run-scoring double. For the game, Bruce went 2-4 with a double.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Bruce said.
