Tortolita used a superb performance from starting pitcher Kabeya Kasongo to down the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 2-1. Tortolita has now won 5 in a row.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Drummers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the seventh, when first baseman Tso-i Wang hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Larry Souder and made the score 2-1, Drummers. Wang went 1 for 3.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Phoenix manager Terry Stokes.
