Fog Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Lake Monsters
|
The Sunset District Fog topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-4, in USSL Triple A action at Monster Field. The player of the game was Sunset District center fielder Jim McMahon. Losses have been few and far between for the Lake Monsters, who are now 14-6.
Sunset District needed the clutch hitting of Doug Cole to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Fog on top, 2-0. For the game, Cole had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Tomás Gonzáles said.
