Disaster Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Port Royal Disaster topped the Plymouth Rocks, 8-5, with left fielder Benno Luby playing a big role. Luby went 3-3 with 2 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Disaster in the win. Patrick Buzard earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, with 6 walks and 1 strikeout. Andrei-Luiz Frial earned the save for Port Royal, his 3rd of the year.
Luby had a key at-bat for Port Royal early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 10th double of the season and gave Port Royal an early 1-0 lead.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Luby.
Losses have been few and far between for the Rocks so far this season. Their record drops to 15-5.
