Drummers Come Back Late, Nip Disaster
|
Ballpark of Port Royal was the site of a tense game between the Port Royal Disaster and Tortolita Drummers.
Tortolita Drummers starter Kabeya Kasongo was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Port Royal Disaster, 2-1. The win was Jerry Magee's in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Christian Clayton took the loss for Port Royal. Bryan Tuff picked up the save, his 1st.
Tortolita used the clutch hitting of Fernando Rincón to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Drummers the lead, 2-1. For the game, Rincón had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Rincón told a Tortolita Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The defending champion Drummers have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 8-9 with the win.
