The Syracuse Starks got a good effort from starter Dave McAlear in defeating the Florida Men at Psychos Ballpark. The final score was 4-1. McAlear, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 4 walks. Raśl Flores earned the save for Syracuse, his 3rd of the year.
Syracuse used the bat of Austin Case to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Starks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Case.
The Men fall to 7-10 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2039 season.
