Drummers Saddle Starks with 5-2 Loss
Tortolita played host to Syracuse at the friendly confines of Drummers Ballpark.

The Tortolita Drummers got a strong performance from pitcher Cisco Pérez, who stymied the Syracuse offense en route to a 5-2 win at Drummers Ballpark. Jerry Magee picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Robinson Suárez was tagged with the loss.

Tortolita took a 2-1 lead on Fernando Rincón's 13th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Rincón hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Syracuse pitcher Robinson Suárez visibly frustrated.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Rincón. "I think we showed that here."

The defending champion Drummers have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 6-7 with the win.
