Williams goes 4-for-5 as Fog Squeeze Past Tortolita
Fans who came to Fog Park watched the Sunset District Fog and the Tortolita Drummers fight to the finish.

Sunset District beat Tortolita at Fog Park, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Steve Williams, who earned player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner was Sunset District reliever Yajirobei Matsumoto, now 1-0. The loser was Scott Thompson. Homer Boyd recorded the save for Sunset District, his 2nd of the season.

Williams put Sunset District up, 6-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Scott Thompson in the bottom of the fourth. His 1st home run of the season helped the Fog capture the win.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Williams. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

The Drummers drop to 5-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2039 season.
