|
Florida shortstop Henrique de Senna Fernandes had a good game, even if his team did not. The Men dropped a 8-7 decision to Phoenix at Psychos Ballpark. de Senna Fernandes was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dan Bell picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-1. He struck out 4 in 5.1 innings. Neal Burns closed the game out for Phoenix, earning his 2nd save.
Phoenix relied on the bat of Valerius Buser to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hotspur Reserves ahead, 6-3. For the game, Buser had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Buser told the Phoenix Today.
With the win, Phoenix improves its record to 4-6.
