Supernovas Score Late to Upend Longnecks, 5-1
|
The Scranton Supernovas picked up a win at Lookouts Ballpark, knocking off the Bloomington Longnecks, 5-1. Starting pitcher Ron Fernández was an essential part of his team's success. The Supernovas are now 47-48, while the Longnecks fall to 48-47.
Scranton used the timely hitting of Ken Norris to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Supernovas on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Norris told the Scranton Daily.
