Supernovas Stay Hot, Beat Bronze Sox

The Scranton Supernovas knocked off the Texas Bronze Sox, 5-4, at Nuclear Stadium. John Willoughby, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Scranton won. The third baseman was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Nick de la Fuente got credit for the win, improving to 9-8. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 5.1 innings. The Bronze Sox, now 28-58, have lost 4 straight.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Willoughby, who is tied for 10th in the PAAA in total bases with 133, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Supernovas into the lead, 5-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Willoughby. "And not try to do too much."
