Golden Cranes Take Nail-Biter Over Redlegs
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes did just enough to sneak past the Sacramento Redlegs, 5-4, at Crane Field. Santa Barbara first baseman Braxton Cottongame earned player of the game honors. Santa Barbara reliever Takejiro Masuda was the winner. His record is now 2-4. Broderick Evans took the loss. The Golden Cranes now have a record of 37-45 with the win over Sacramento.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With no one out, Cottongame hit a slider from Broderick Evans for a solo home run. The Golden Cranes, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
In postgame comments, Cottongame said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
