Men Come Up Short at Syracuse
|
Starting pitcher Dave McAlear pitched well enough to help the Syracuse Starks beat the Florida Men by the score of 4-3. McAlear, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 3 walks. The Starks, now 2-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
The Starks grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Tyler Knopp hit a solo home run off Enrique Cruz, putting Syracuse in front, 4-0. For Knopp, it was his 1st home run of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," McAlear said.
