The Alloway Halberds launched their 2039 campaign with a victory over the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Alloway. Alloway left fielder Juan Jimínez was instrumental in the 5-1 win. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Peter Glenn picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 4 in 5 innings.

With Alloway leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Jimínez hit a curveball from Patrick Buzard for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Halberds ahead, 4-1.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Jimínez.
