Kevin Maughan pitched well, but his team, the Texas Bronze Sox, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Bloomington Longnecks at Bronze Sox Park. Quentin Bowers picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 6-6. The Longnecks move to 35-35 with the win, while the Bronze Sox drop to 24-46.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Yi-da Yee to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Longnecks on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Yee told the Bloomington Observer.
