Victory Over Longnecks Takes Bakersfield to 43-21
|
Andy Tidwell pitched well, but the Bloomington Longnecks still lost the game, falling 4-0 to the Bakersfield Nobles at Lookouts Ballpark. Bakersfield reliever Wilson Rangel picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Andy Tidwell was saddled with the loss. Bakersfield improves to 43-21 with the win. They lead their division by 7½ games.
It could have been a different outcome for Bakersfield, had it not been for Corey Ollerton, the 23-year old catcher . Ollerton contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Bakersfield up, 1-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Bakersfield skipper Zach King.
