Bronze Sox Squelch Redlegs Offense in Shutout Win
The Texas Bronze Sox got a stellar performance from pitcher Tony Torres, who handcuffed the Sacramento offense en route to a 3-0 win at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Torres got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Torres allowed no earned runs. Hercules Mata'afa earned the save for Texas, his 13th.

Texas used the timely hitting of Víctor Cuevas to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Bronze Sox ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Torres.

With the win, the Bronze Sox improved to 18-42.
