The Calgary Lynx downed the Jersey City Tritons, 8-3, at Jersey City Grounds. The Lynx were led by Isagani Gorre, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. The second-place Lynx have won 4 straight.
Calgary used the timely hitting of Kevin Malone to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Lynx on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The vibe's good," said Calgary manager Thomas Campbell. "We've got to keep it going."
