Texas Bronze Sox starter Van Lapointe was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 3-2. Texas is now 14-34. Santa Barbara is 20-28.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Bronze Sox had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the sixth, when center fielder Jeff Reed hit a run-scoring double. The double came off Albert Pérez and made the score 2-0, Bronze Sox. Reed went 1 for 4 with a double.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Lapointe said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
