Supernovas Walk Off with Win
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Nuclear Stadium today.
The Scranton Supernovas faced a tough opponent in Jersey City pitcher Paul Vereen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Nuclear Stadium by a final score of 4-3. Vereen went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Scranton reliever José González got the win, raising his record to 4-3. Tom Lee was tagged with the loss.
Luis González took Tom Lee deep in the bottom of the 14th. His solo home run put the Supernovas on top, 4-3. In all, González had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 6.
"This game tested our mettle," said González.
The 'W' lifts Scranton's record to 19-26.
