Tritons Lose, 5-3, at Nuclear Stadium
|
Bud Randall did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Jersey City Tritons from losing, 5-3, to the Scranton Supernovas at Nuclear Stadium. Randall was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Malcolm Bullard earned the win for Scranton. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 3-2. Earning his 5th save of the year was Magnus Belli.
In the bottom of the fifth, Scranton shortstop Ruhinda Kirkconnell had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Kirkconnell stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 5-3, Scranton. For the game, he was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
Kirkconnell called the triumph "a good team win."
The 'W' lifts Scranton's record to 18-26.
