Golden Cranes Fall Short, 3-2, at Sacramento
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Sacramento Redlegs and the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, Alberto Gómez was the difference-maker. The Sacramento right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Gómez got the win, improving to 1-4. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Gómez allowed 1 earned run. Sacramento is in 7th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 20-21.
In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Quinn Albracht gave Sacramento the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Redlegs had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Santa Barbara pitcher Cipriano Pinto changed that -- and Sacramento went on to win.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Lockwood Rose.
