Texas right fielder Jeff Reed was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Jersey City Tritons. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles for Texas. Texas reliever Érik Moreau picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Paul Vereen absorbed the loss. Texas is now 11-29. Jersey City is 22-18.
Reed had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Paul Vereen, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Bronze Sox a 4-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Reed.
Reed told a Texas News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
